See Me See Change Ambassador Networks
During the academic year of 2023-24, See Me will be hosting two See Me See Change Ambassador Networks for school staff and pupils who are interested in, embarking upon or already participating in See Me See Change.
These networks are a great chance to connect with other staff and pupils from across Scotland who are also on their See Me See Change journey to tackling mental health stigma and discrimination in their schools.
What will the networks involve?
Two networks will run concurrently, one for staff and one for pupils, for people who are interested in or already involved in See Me See Change.
The first network session will be aimed at anyone who is interested in implementing, or already participating, in the programme.
Further network sessions will have a different theme that will be chosen by the network.
The four overarching aims of the network are for participants and See Me to ‘connect’, ‘share’, ‘learn’ and ‘listen’. Participants of the networks will be able to:
- Learn from each other about what stigma looks like within school environments, the barriers and challenges, as well as solutions to reducing it.
- Share practice in relation to See Me See Change implementation, action plans, activities and progress.
- Connect with other pupils or staff participating in See Me See Change.
- Listen to See Me and special guests share resources, updates and wider opportunities within the See Me See Change programme of work.
When and where will the sessions take place?
Network sessions will take place online and run once per term, with the first session taking place in September. Pupils and staff will vote on exact dates for sessions in Term 2 and Term 3 during the first session.
Ambassador Network for Pupils:
Term 1: Monday 18 December, 12.45pm - 1.30pm
Term 2: Jan- March TBC
Term 3: April-June TBC
Ambassador Network for Staff:
Term 1: Thursday 2 November, 4pm - 5pm.
Term 2: Jan- March TBC
Term 3: April-June TBC
Who can participate?
We are welcoming up to two pupils per school to join each network session.
Pupils can already be participating in See Me See Change and have mental health ambassador responsibilities within the school. They will be expected to share any learning with fellow pupils and staff following the networks. Pupils can rotate their participation in the network, with different representatives joining across the sessions.
We are also welcoming up to two members of staff per school to join each network session.
Any staff who are involved in implementing, coordinating or delivering See Me See Change in their respective schools are welcome, as well as school staff who are also interested in learning more to support the buy-in and implementation of See Me See Change in their schools.
