Stigma and discrimination act as significant barriers to people accessing the support and benefits they are entitled to. For example, current benefits assessments are not designed for people with mental health problems and many do not take up benefits due to stigma or the complexity of the system. We want to change this, by ensuring that the benefits system is transparent, stigma free and alive to the needs of people with mental health problems.
