Statement on racist incidents and anti-migrant protests
Posted by See Me, 18 September 2025
We are continually horrified and worried by the rise in racist and anti-migrant incidents in Scotland and across the UK, particularly against refugees and asylum seekers.
These incidents, whilst not new, are escalating and have a real and lasting impact on the everyday lives of those of us who are part of racialised communities.
The current climate in the UK, and across the world, can affect our mental health and stir up feelings of anxiety, isolation, and a lack of safety.
We stand against any action that is racist, Islamophobic or anti-migrant, and we continue to be committed to tackling discrimination in all its forms – including racism.
This weekend’s anti-racism rally in Glasgow, the many that have come before and the continual grassroots movements fighting against racism and oppression, gives us hope that there is far more good in the world than bad. We know that by raising our voices and standing together, we can make a difference.
It is important to remember you are not alone and if you need extra support, our website lists some organisations and services you can access to get the help you need.
We stand in solidarity with our partners and supporters here in Scotland, fighting and championing for the rights of racialised and marginalised communities.
