Our friends at Feniks are recruiting for Polish community ambassadors to help in our joint work to tackle mental health stigma and discrimination in Scotland’s Polish communities.

The community ambassadors programme is a new project that seeks to change attitudes expressed towards people who experience mental health challenges among the Polish community in Scotland.

The programme is a new initiative developed through the Feniks and See Me partnership in to research, which named mental health stigma and discrimination as one of the main contributing factors to a high suicide rate among Polish men in Scotland.

The programme’s goal is to equip Polish people living in Scotland with the skills and knowledge they need to challenge mental health stigma, bringing together a team of supportive volunteers who share the same desire to change the way the Polish community sees mental health problems.

Feniks are seeking to gather a group of passionate individuals who will use their experiences and ideas to create a revolutionary digital campaign that will transform Polish people’s perceptions towards mental health and challenge stigma and discrimination.

The community ambassadors will take part in a series of five workshops. The participants will learn about mental health stigma. In addition, they will receive professional training about building a digital campaign, working with images, and writing for the web.
