What Happened on the Time to Talk Tour 2020?

What a Time to Talk Tour!

In the run up to Time to Talk Day, volunteers Karen and Suzanne embarked on their third annual road trip to get the whole of Scotland talking about mental health.

In total the pair travelled 722.1 miles from Jan 30th – Feb 3rd, and stopped off in Inverness, Aberdeen, Dundee Edinburgh and more with their conversation corner to help drum up support for Time to Talk day itself. The pair also took our 'would you rather?' theme to a whole new level and let you choose the route to their next destination.

If you didn’t catch Karen and Suzanne on social media you can follow it on Twitter @TimeToTalkTour #TimeToTalkTour #TimeToTalk.to get up to speed with all their antics.

Engagement on social media was great, an each day the pair spoke with communities, workplaces and other See Me volunteers about mental health and the importance of starting conversation.

Check out some of the highlights below!

Battling the glorious Scottish weather...

Encouraging TTD activities…

Engaging with partners…

Directions by democracy (but maybe taking a mistaken de-tour!)...

A brief visit to south of the border...

A bit of grassroots participation...

Making a vow to ending mental health stigma and discrimination in Gretna…

Taking conversations to a whole ‘moo’ level…

Heated social media debates (about whether a ‘poly poke’ of sweets is a real thing?!)…

Suzanne’s poem to sum up the key theme from the tour…

Phew! A huge thanks to Karen and Suzanne for all of their hard work.
