G4S BECOMES 500TH PLEDGE SIGNATORY TO JOIN ‘see me’ TO TACKLE STIGMA

G4S has become the 500th organisation and the first security solutions company in Scotland to publicly pledge its commitment to work with ‘see me’ to tackle the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental ill-health.

On Thursday 26th April we joined our Media Volunteer Gemma and her family at The Young Scot awards in Glasgow, as Gemma was a finalist in the Citizen and Diversity Award category. Gemma has been volunteering with 'see me' since September 2010 and has featured in The Scotsman, The Daily Record and in our 'Supporter' film. Since joining the campaign Gemma has been inspirational when telling her story of support and recovery.

Fifth and final 'see me' short film is now available!

Starting from the Scottish Mental Health Week in October 2011, we have been launching short films that now make up a series of five films. Each of these films explores a different theme and its relationship with mental health. The fifth, and final, of these is now live.

Two "firsts" for 'see me' pledge in the Highlands

Last Friday (9th March 2012) Inverness Caledonian Thistle were hosting a 'see me' pledge signing event where eight new organisations pledge their support for the campaign. This included two "firsts" - our first Gaelic language pledge from the Sabhal Mòr Ostaig college of the University of the Highlands and Islands, and Terry Butcher became the first person to sign the pledge twice by signing for Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC, adding to his 2005 signing for Motherwell FC.
