'see me' Evaluation Planning Tool
| A tool to assist in developing your evaluation plan |
|---|
The following questions should be considered and used to outline an evaluation plan – forming part of your overall communications planning.
What do you hope to achieve with this piece of communication?
Outline your defined aims and objectives.
How will these aims and objectives be achieved?
Outline the steps taken, projects involved, communications produced.
What criteria will you use to define achievement of aims and objectives?
Define achievable, measurable criteria against your original objectives. E.g. a 7% increase in members to your group, a 30% increase in fundraising, getting 20 people to sign a pledge.
Why do you need to evaluate?
Consider who the evaluation is for, what you need to find out and who else you will share the evaluation with.
What baseline information or findings from previous activity do I have?
Before you start you communications make sure you know your starting point and that you have any findings from other communications of this sort either of your own or from others.
What information do I need to help with my evaluation?
Consider what information you will need (it may need to be collected during the project duration), how it will be collected and analysed.
Who do I need to contact to assist me with my evaluation
Consider what resources or help you might need to undertake your evaluation. What internal and external people do you need to contact to ask for information?
When am I going to evaluate?
Consider when and at what intervals evaluation and reporting will take place. During the activity, immediately after the activity or both. Or is the evaluation ongoing?
What budget do I need to set aside for evaluation?
Evaluation costs can vary dependent upon the extent of your evaluation. Make sure you consider this in advance and allow an appropriate budget for evaluation.
How will the findings of the evaluation be used?
Consider how you will use learning from the evaluation in future projects/communications and possible impacts on their development and implementation.
