Work With Others

Working together to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of mental ill-health is crucial to ensuring that we all begin to recognise that mental health is everyone's business. I would like to live in a world where asking for help in relation to our mental health is not seen as a weakness but as a strength. (Shona Manson, Shetland)

'see me' works closely with individuals and groups across Scotland; at both a national and local level. It is a great way to tackle stigma and discrimination. A consistent message that is fed back to us is the importance of working with others at a local level. Working with others reduces isolation and provides opportunities for sharing ideas. People bring different experiences, skills, networks and influences which open the door for wider impact. It can also help spread the effort.

Whether you are planning a ‘one off’ event or establishing a local partnership group it is important to think carefully about who else you can work with to achieve your goals. This section of the toolkit is developed to support you to plan how you can work with others.
