Funding:
'see me’ is fully funded by the Scottish Government; and has been since 2001.
We try to ensure that as much of our funding as possible is spent on direct campaigning to change public attitudes and behaviour (making and airing ads and visuals, testing and research, monitoring the media, running events and supporting local action)and we recognise that our staff play a vital role in that work.
An example of how ‘see me’ spends its money is taken from our 2007/08 accounts:

‘see me’s budgets and financial reports are agreed by our Management Group and submitted to the Scottish Government for information. Funds are released by them at six-monthly intervals following receipt of financial and work reports as well as any budgets.
Accountability:
The ‘see me’ Campaign Director reports directly to quarterly meetings of the campaign’s Management Group and to the Chair of the Management Group between meetings.
‘see me’s Management Group agrees the strategic direction of the campaign, as well as the budget, then receives work and financial reports on progress.
A representative of the Scottish Government sits on the Management Group as an observer and regular meetings are held between the Government and the campaign.
Information-Sharing:
‘see me’ meets regularly with other organisations which have been funded by the Government as part of the National Programme to Improve Mental Health and Well-being.
In particular we meet formally and informally with key partners such as the Scottish Recovery Network, Choose Life and Breathing Space.
